MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR SPRING SUMMER 2014/15 COLLECTIONS
With less than five weeks to go until Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, IMG Fashion today released the Official schedule for the 2014/15 Spring Summer season, outlining the 72 designer brands showcasing this season.
The week kicks off with Mercedes-Benz Presents Carla Zampatti followed by the Spring Summer Collections from: Ae’lkemi, Aje, Alex Perry, Alice McCall, Aurelio Costarella, Bec & Bridge, Betty Tran, Bianca Spender, By Johnny, Cameo, Desert Designs, Duvenage, Ellery, Emma Mulholland, Gail Sorronda, Galanni, Ginger & Smart, Haryono Setiadi, Hayley Elsaesser, Ixiah, Jayson Brunsdon, Kahlo, Lan Yu, Leroy Nguyen, macgraw, Maticevski, Michael Lo Sordo, NLP, Phoenix Keating, Romance Was Born, Serpent & The Swan, Song For The Mute, Strateas. Carlucci, Suboo, Swarovski, Talulah, Unif.M, We Are Handsome and Zhivago.
NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Stoner welcomed the release of this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia official schedule. “In just a few weeks, the eyes of the fashion industry will be on Australia’s fashion capital and creative hub, Sydney, as our best emerging and established designers take to the runway, ” Mr Stoner said.
As part of the New Generation platform that has introduced some of Australia’s biggest names to the global stage, IMG Fashion handpicks upcoming design talents to present their S/S 2014 Collection. For 2014, the New Generation show will include: Anna Quan, Aquintic, Caslazur, Daniel K, Doris Q, Dyspnea, Rachelalex and Rukshani. Student collections from Australia’s leading fashion programs; Raffles andFashion DesignStudio(TAFE NSW) will take the runway later in the week to present their most talented graduates. The Innovators will feature graduate collections from: Bei Na Wei, Ciara Nolan, Hayley Dawson, Julia Logvin, Kiaya Daniels and Yousef Akbar. Raffles will showcase collections from: Asanovski, Diyana Kosso, Gabriel Lee, Ophelie, Paul Nathaphol, Sara Aljaism and Will Be.

Australia’s infamous swimwear industry will also be represented this season with brands such as We Are Handsome, NLP, Talulah, and SUBOO presenting their swimwear alongside our ready to wear designers and brands. The group Swim Show will feature young swim brands including cult brand on the rise Bondi Bather, Tallow, Cleonie, Surface Too Deep and Carena West.

The Clean Cut showcase will include collections from leading sustainable designers selected from Australia and overseas: Rachel Cassar, Bhalo and Lalesso are amongst the 8 designers presenting at Clean Cut's official launch. The event will celebrate each designer’sown striking aesthetic and the unique story behind their sustainability and social practices.
The Woolmark company joins the schedule with a special event to announce the Australia Region Nominee’s for the 2014/15 International Woolmark Prize (IWP). The celebrations will include the World Premiere of the IWP Documentary that takes you inside the studios of five of the world’s most talented designers as they prepare for the challenge of a lifetime.
