AMG to take away: Mercedes-Benz Museum GmbH is opening its new AMG-Collection Shop at Affalterbach in 2014. The 100-square-metre showroom will be selling all the exclusive products from the AMG Collection along with high-quality accessories, souvenirs and technical literature from Mercedes-Benz’s performance brand.
Whether handy luggage items, motorsport articles, trendy mobile-phone cases or key rings – the new shop lets you take a piece of AMG lifestyle home with you. “We now run the AMG-Collection Shop in addition the Museum Shop, ” says Michael Bock, Head of Mercedes-Benz Classic and General Manager of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. “As well as the entire current AMG Collection, the shop also stocks items that were previously only available exclusively in the Museum Shop.” Mario Spitzner, Head of Branding and Marketing at Mercedes-AMG, adds: “Opening the shop at Affalterbach allows us to bring the AMG brand even closer to our customers and fans.”
Mercedes-AMG GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, was founded in 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher. The third letter in the brand's name stands for Großaspach, Aufrecht's birthplace in Germany. Today the Affalterbach site employs more than 1300 people. The new AMG-Collection Shop (Daimlerstrasse 1, 71563 Affalterbach, Germany) is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The current AMG range includes high-quality accessories, detailed model cars, the official MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula-1 Collection and children's cars such as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive.
