Chicago Dem State Rep. Introduces Bill To Tax And Put Serial Numbers On Ammo

gunOn Monday Chicago Democrat state Rep. Sonya Harper filled HB 6615 that would require that all handgun ammunition kept, sold, or used in the state of Illinois starting in 2018 would have to have serial numbers, anyone in possession of unserialized ammo would face misdemeanor charges.  Harper’s bill would also establish a state registry for ammunition and sales with the Illinois State Police and impose a half a penny tax per round on ammo sold in the Illinois.

The synopsis of the bill:

Provides that beginning January 1, 2018, all handgun ammunition that is manufactured, imported into the State for sale or personal use, kept for sale, offered or exposed for sale, sold, given, lent, or possessed shall be serialized. Provides that beginning January 1, 2018, any person who manufactures, causes to be manufactured, imports into the State for sale or personal use, keeps for sale, offers or exposes for sale, or who gives or lends any handgun ammunition that is not serialized is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Provides that beginning January 1, 2018, any person who possesses in any public place any handgun ammunition that is not serialized is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor. Provides exceptions. Provides that beginning January 1, 2018, the Department of State Police shall maintain a centralized registry of all reports of handgun ammunition transactions reported to the Department in a manner prescribed by the Department. Provides that information in the registry, upon proper application for that information, shall be furnished to peace officers and authorized employees of the Department of State Police or to the person listed in the registry as the owner of the particular handgun ammunition. Provides that the Department of State Police shall adopt rules relating to the assessment and collection of end-user fees in an amount not to exceed $0.005 per round of handgun ammunition or per bullet, in which the accumulated fee amount may not exceed the cost to pay for the infrastructure, implementation, operational, enforcement, and future development costs of these provisions. Effective January 1, 2018, except some provisions effective immediately.

There have been more than 570 murders so far in Chicago this year, with well over 3,000 wounded. This past weekend saw 8 people killed and another 40 wounded.

This horrific amount of crime is almost all the result of young black men shooting and killing or wounding other young blacks with illegal guns in a city that used to ban handgun ownership until that was found to be unconstitutional by the Courts. Chicago continues a near de facto ban on gun stores within city limits by way of zoning ordinances after the Courts again found the cities outright ban on them unconstitutional.  Chicago is so anti-gun that Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Amazon.com have teamed up to keep little kids from getting toys in the city, right as everyone gears up for the Christmas shopping season.

Making hunters, the states tens of thousands of concealed carry permit holders, or any other law-abiding gun owner put serial numbers on their ammunition won’t do diddley squat about the Chicago’s gang and drug violence problem.

If Rep. Harper wants to do something about Chicago’s(or Rockford’s) crime problem do something about the lack of fathers in these punk kids lives, do something about a culture that promotes violence, fix the Chicago court system so that shooting suspects aren’t back out on the street before the inks dry, that and so much more would do wonders for Chicago’s violent streets; putting serial numbers on everyone’s ammo is just a great way to get another Illinois anti-gun law squashed by the Courts for being unconstitutional.

Fundraising During Dem Sit-in By Schakowsky Broke Ethics Rules

Rep. Jan Schakowsky

Rep. Jan Schakowsky

Illinois is so corrupt.

Luis Gutierrez is paying his wife six figures. Denny Haster just reported to jail. Aaron Schock’s probably going to be joining him. Auditor General Frank Mautino won’t be far behind. And now during yesterdays tempertantrum to erase the Bill of Rights by House Democrats some fundraising by congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, well it broke House ethics rules.

From Breitbart:

At least one Democrat, however, who sent fundraising messages from the floor of the House itself may have violated the rules of the House Ethics Committee.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), who participated in the protest, sent a message to supporters while literally on the House floor, using the left-wing fundraising platform ActBlue (emphasis added):

I’m asking you while sitting here on the House floor: Will you support our fund to elect public servants willing to stand up to the NRA? We need to take action immediately. We won’t be able to make real change until the NRA-funded obstruction is over. That’s why we need a change in Congress. Chip in right now to help us make that happen.

House Ethics Committee rules specify that congressional resources, including the physical space of the building itself, may not be used for political fundraising

Bustos Helps Lead Dem Gun Control Tempertantrum On House Floor

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL) and other House Dems during their sit-in gun control protest

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL) and other House Dems during their sit-in gun control protest

Wednesday the Democrat members of the House of Representatives had a collective tempertantrum and staged a whiney college student sit-in protest on the House floor demanding that Speaker Paul Ryan schedule votes on gun control instead of the House going on recess for the next week.

The House Democrats effort was led and orchestrated by Rep. John Lewis.  He was joined by nearly every Democrat member of the House, and got support from Senate Democrats like Illinois’ “Little” Dick Durbin.  The Democrats have been demanding that the American people’s 2nd, 4th, and 5th amendment rights be trampled upon and infringed following the ISIS inspired terrorist attack at the Pulse night club in Orlando that left 49 dead and 53 wounded.

Instead of debating and introducing legislation to defeat the Islamo-Nazis who are responsible for the blood-shed in Orlando, and San Bernardino, and Paris, and all across Syria, Iraq, and Libya the Democrats want to do away with the 2nd amendment and your right to keep and bear arms, they want to jettison due process, which is a right guaranteed to you by the Bill of Rights. They want their liberal Statist Utopia, free of guns, free of dissent, and free of liberty.

Had just one person at that night club been carrying a lawfully concealed weapon the mayhem that occurred at Pulse would have resulted in far, far fewer innocent lives having been taken.

But no, we can’t have any of that now can we.

And thus the Democrats, including every Congressional Democrat from Illinois, staged their little tempertanrum.

17th CD congresswoman Cheri Bustos, who did Snapchat interview with her fellow gun grabbers during the protest, said in a press release:

“Too many mothers and fathers have lost their children to gun violence and they deserve more than thoughts and prayers, they deserve action,” “That’s why I’m participating in the sit-in protest to demand Congress hold a vote to close loophole that allows suspected terrorists to buy guns, and a vote expanding criminal background checks to keep deadly weapons out of the hands of violent offenders. Americans are sick of inaction from Republicans in Washington and they deserve a vote on common sense proposals to protect our families.”

When Republicans Come For Your 2nd Amendment Right

gunIt is bad enough that the liberals and Utopian Statists have spent every second of every day since the Orlando terrorist attack trying to take away the 2nd amendment rights of Americans, not to mention going after the 4th and 5th amendments as well, but when feckless establishment Republicans, and people who are really just New York City liberal Democrats(like Donald Trump) join in you know it is time to call in an exterminator.

One of the Democrats favorite things to push, aside from a new “assault” weapon ban, is a No Fly No Buy bill that would keep people on the terrorist and no fly lists from being able to purchase a firearm. Illinois lame duck Sen. Mark Kirk, quite possibly the most liberal Republican in the Senate, joined in on the Democrats efforts to deny the 2nd amendment to people like the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, conservative writers, and 6yr old boys and girls who have been placed on the terrorist or no fly lists by mistake.

Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger last Monday on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, just hours after the carnage at the Pulse Night Club had concluded welcomed the idea of Congress debating gun control saying, “We can always have that discussion. I think its good, that’s what the floor of the House of Representatives is for.” Later that same day on Fox News’ Outnumbered program Kinzinger repeated his support of letting Democrats float the curtailing of the Bill of Rights on the House floor saying, “I personally think it is an absolutely reasonable discussion to have.” He also said, “I’m very pro 2nd amendment. I have nothing against having the debate, that’s what Congress is for.”

Okay where is it written that taking away a persons constitutional right(s) is something that absolutely has to be discussed and debated on the House floor?

Is it in some pamphlet No Labels hands out to the new members when they land at Reagan airport?

Fellow Illinois RINO congressman Bob Dold last week came out in support of the Democrats gun control agenda post Orlando telling the Chicago Tribune that he supported the terrorist and no fly list firearm purchase prohibition, and expanded background checks aka the so-called “gun show loophole”.  Dold’s spokesperson also told the Tribune that Dold could be brought around to supporting an assault weapon ban and bans on high-capacity magazines.

With gun grabbing Republicans like these who needs Democrats.

Now does anyone have the number for an exterminator with experience dealing with RINO sized cockroaches?

Kirk: I’ll Be Reelected Because I’m Pro-Gay Marriage, Pro-Abortion, Pro-Gun Control

Sen.Mark Kirk(R-IL)

Sen.Mark Kirk(R-IL)

In an interview with CNN Friday Illinois Republican Sen. Mark Kirk said that he’d be reelected this November for Democrat congresswoman Tammy Duckworth because he’s been voting for and supporting gay marriage, abortion, and gun control.

In a story about the Kirk-Duckworth race and the impact Donald Trump being the presumptive nominee for the GOP might have Kirk said: These days I’m probably the best-positioned Republican to weather the institution of Trumpism because I have been voting pro-gay rights and against the gun lobby and solidly pro-choice,”

Kirk has said that he will back Trump as the nominee.

In recent months Sen. Kirk has been backing up those extremely liberal positions as he voted against defunding Planned Parenthood after the undercover baby body parts videos, he’s spoken out strongly in support of gay marriage for years. And Kirk is one of the only Republicans to openly support Merrick Garland’s appointment to the Supreme Court, Garland backs gun control.

Hillary In Iowa: NRA Talking Nonsense About Gun Confiscation

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton of the Clinton Crime Family was in Waterloo, Iowa Monday and got to talking about the National Rifle Association and gun control.

From the QC Times:

She dismissed the idea that the executive actions or any legislation violate the Constitution’s Second Amendment.

“We have to cut through the barrage of propaganda and fear that the NRA puts out there: ‘They’re coming for your guns,’” Clinton said. “That’s such nonsense. They know it’s nonsense, but they try to keep people all agitated, so we just have our work cut out for us.”

Quad City Times Editorial Board: Trump And Cruz Spreading Irrational Fear-Fueled Falsehoods About Obama Executive Gun Control

gunThe editorial board of the Quad City Times on Sunday penned one of the most absurd pieces ever written. The editorial board says that GOP presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are spreading irrational, fear-fueled falsehoods about President Obama’s executive order on gun control.

They also wrote, “No one is coming for your guns. Candidates who claim otherwise think you’re stupid. ”

The board mocked Donald Trump’s call to end gun free zones, a sentiment backed by other presidential candidates including Dr. Ben Carson. Bemoaning the number of gun Americans already own.

The editorial also said:

You’d think President Barack Obama sent National Guard troops on a house-by-house gun confiscation sweep, by the bombast from Republican presidential candidates. Those would-be presidents show just how little they think of Iowans every time they play up their irrational, fear-driven rhetoric.

The writers at the QC Times liked that President Obama legislated on his own, they really liked his moves on the so called gun show loophole.

Nevermind that nothing President Obama did this week would have stopped a single mass shooter anywhere in the country.  Neither would these moves do much to stop the gang violence in Chicago.

Trump and the others are right when they call for the end of gun free zones, which mass murders seek out so that they can harm as many UNARMED victims as possible.  To mock and ridicule that is what is stupid.

Making a grandfather do a background check on his grandson  and wants to give him an old shotgun for having graduated boot camp is stupid.

Fear mongering about the National Rifle Association wanting to totally deregulate firearms at the state level is beyond the pale, but the QC Times editorial board did just that.

Some of those people have to live across the Mississippi River in Illinois and know the state chapter of the NRA there was more than happy to help work with state lawmakers a few years ago to come up with a viable concealed carry law after federal courts ruled the states concealed carry ban was unconstitutional.

I’d swear this drivel was written by the New York Times or Washington Post.

Paul In Iowa: Obama Executive Gun Control Unconstitutional

Senator Rand Paul

Senator Rand Paul

GOP presidential candidate and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul was in Davenport, Iowa Friday and said during an interview with OurQuadCites.com that President Obama’s executive order on gun control was unconstitutional saying, “Our Founding Fathers were very clear they did not want the President to legislate…What the President is currently doing is unconstitutional.”

Obama seeks to in part make any who tries to sell a gun be just like a licsense gun dealer, even if only on occassion to say family, and that those transcation must include a background check. Obama is also hiring hundreds of more federal agents to do those background checks.

Carson In Iowa: Get Rid Of Gun Free Zones

Dr. Ben Carson

Dr. Ben Carson

Speaking in Bettendorf, Iowa Thursday evening Dr. Ben Carson said that instead of the executive orders on gun control that President Obama unveiled this week he would get rid of one of the leading factors in mass shootings in the country, the existence of gun free zones.

Carson also said that you don’t see mass killings at schools in Israel because staff at schools there are heavily armed.

Got to love a man with such common sense.

More gun control, more background checks, assault weapon bans, or getting rid of the 2nd amendment won’t do a thing to stop mass killings, let alone the gang violence in Chicago, proof that gun control doesn’t work.

Letting good people with guns protect themselves is elementary and good public policy.

So naturally the leftist will go bananas when they learn of Dr. Carson’s remarks.

From the QC Times:

He also criticized the Obama administration’s approach to gun control, saying there aren’t shootings at schools in Israel, because there are well-trained personnel protecting them.

“Have you noticed in this country when we have these mass shootings, they always go to gun free zones? So I don’t think we should have any gun free zones,” he said to applause.

Bustos: Obama’s Executive Gun Control Respects Rights Of Legal Gun Owners

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

In a press statement following President Obama unveiling his executive order(s) Illinois Democrat congresswoman Cheri Bustos said that she’s confident those executive orders are perfectly fine and respect the rights of law abiding gun owners.

In other news pigs can fly.

“Every day, we lose an average of more than 30 mothers, fathers, sons and daughters to gun violence in our homes, on our streets and in ever increasing incidents of mass shootings,” said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. “During the past several months, I’ve reached out to law enforcement officials across Illinois, gun violence experts and community organizations on the front lines of providing services to victims to better understand how we can address this scourge. With their guidance, last month I co-sponsored a bipartisan proposal that would make it harder for convicted criminals, the dangerously mentally ill and perpetrators of domestic violence to access deadly weapons by closing loopholes and expanding the use of criminal background checks. As the wife of a Sheriff and mother of hunters, I support the Second Amendment, and these executive actions respect the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”
