Tea Party Congressional Candidate Gets Dem Vote Rigging Stopped In Illinois

Patrick Harlan

Patrick Harlan

Knox county Tea Party leader and Republican congressional candidate in Illinois’ 17th district Patrick Harlan and the Liberty Justice Center scored a major victory in Federal court to stop Democrat efforts to rig the vote ahead of the November 8th Presidential election.

During the 2014 lame duck session Illinois Democrat Party boss and Speaker of the House Michael Madigan ushered throw a new same day voter registration law that required counties with populations of more than 100,000 to let people register to vote at all polling places on election day. Of the 102 counties in Illinois many have populations well under that threshold, there are several Illinois counties with populations of less than 10,000. Those counties with lower populations only are required to have a central same day registration site under the law.

This obviously allows Democrats to maximize their voter turn out and vote totals in Chicago and Cook county in favor of Hillary Clinton and congresswoman Tammy Duckworth who is running for the US Senate.  As Republican statewide office seekers have known for a long time in Illinois it doesn’t matter how Illinois 101 other counties vote, everything is determined by Chicago and Cook county.

On Tuesday Judge Samuel Der-Yeghiayan agreed with arguments made by Harlan(whose is facing Rep. Cheri Bustos) and the Liberty Justice Center that the Madigan same day registration law was unconstitutional and disenfranchised the vote of residents of the states many rural counties.

Yehiayan wrote, “while it may be true that the polling place registration option can assist voters in certain populous counties, that option cannot be provided at the expense of lower population counties, thereby decreasing their political representation in Illinois.

Judge Yehiayan continued, “The application of this legislation favors the urban citizen and dilutes the vote of the rural citizen,” wrote Der-Yeghiayan, who added, “Illinois is made up of more than the Chicago metropolitan area and other high population areas. Equality under the law does not end at the city limits.”

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan(Speaker Madigan’s daughter) has said that she will appeal the ruling.

Jacob Huebert of the Liberty Justice Center said in a press release,

Today the court recognized the unfairness of guaranteeing a voting right to some voters but not others. The court ruled that if Illinois is going to have Election Day voter registration at polling places, it should be available statewide – and it should be fair. The government shouldn’t make it harder for people in some parts of the state to register and vote. If Illinois wants to provide Election Day voter registration at the polls, it can do so in a way that’s fair and equal. Six other states, including Illinois’ neighbors Wisconsin and Iowa, give all of their citizens the right to register and vote at their local polling places; they don’t favor voters in some counties over voters in other counties. We’re pleased the court affirmed that everyone has right to the same opportunity to vote.”

As it stands the ruling gives Gov. Bruce Rauner and his allies better chances of picking up a few seats in the state legislature; any GOP gains would end Speaker Madigan’s veto-proof super-majority.  The ruling is not likely to help Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, who was in the Chicagoland area Wednesday, much as Hillary Clinton is still widely expected to win the heavily blue state, although her margin of victory is probably going to be diminished due to the courts actions. This court order might also be the only thing that can save Sen. Mark Kirk’s bacon.

Congresswoman Bustos has had no comment on the court ruling, although she will probably fire off a bunch of fundraising emails about it; she has more than $2 million in the bank, Patrick Harlan’s campaign is broke(donate here).

Voters across Illinois owe Patrick Harlan and the Liberty Justice Center a huge debt of gratitude for taking a small bite out of the Madigan machine and for making it a little easier to have fair(er) elections this November.

Of Ricketts And Madigan

Michael Madigan(Left) Ricketts Family(Right)

Michael Madigan(Left) Ricketts Family(Right)

For the last several weeks Conservative Review’s Robert Eno has been detailing the attempts by the Ricketts family, of TD Ameritrade and owner of the Chicago Cubs, to take out members of the House Freedom Caucus, such as their successful effort against Rep. Tim Huelskamp, and to defeat Republican challengers who either want to join the Freedom Caucus or are endorsed by it running in congressional races around the country by way of their Ending Spending Action Fund(ESA Fund) PAC.

No matter who the President is Congress needs to have as many conservatives and constitutionalist in the House of Representatives and Senate as possible.

It is bad enough that the Republican Party establishment and donor class have it out for conservatives, it is even worse when you find those same establishment figures having a cozy little deal with the Democrat who runs Illinois Michael Madigan.

The Speaker of the Illinois House since 1983(minus 2 years during the Gingrich revolution) Madigan has run this state like a tyrannical King.  It was Madigan, by way of his lawyers and his Judges, that recently kept a citizen driven state constitutional amendment ballot measure to take legislative redistricting power away from him off the November ballot. It has been those Madigan allies that have been keeping similar efforts to amend the Illinois Constitution to impose term limits on the legislature from ever going before the voters; Madigan has been in elected office since 1971. Reforming state government by way of redistricting and term limits have been two of the key agenda items of Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner. Madigan’s staunch opposition to those reforms and other elements of Rauner’s Turn Around Agenda, such a collective bargaining and other union related reforms, led the state to go a year without a budget.

By controlling redistricting Michael Madigan and the Democrat Party, of which he is state chairman, have been able to control who gets to represent the people of Illinois in Springfield and Washington DC.

Following the Tea Party wave of 2010, which even hit deep blue Illinois, Madigan used redistricting to oust Tea Party firebrand Joe Walsh and the mild-mannered Bobby Schilling from their congressional districts in order to make easy paths to victory for Democrat party darling Tammy Duckworth, and Cheri Bustos whose a close family friend of Sen. Dick Durbin’s. Madigan also used that same opportunity to pit longtime conservative congressman Don Manzullo up against one the GOPe’s young rising stars Adam Kinzinger, a race that Manzullo lost and conservatives the nation over have been lamenting ever since.  Controlling redistricting has also allowed Michael Madigan to build a veto-proof super majority in both chambers of the legislature.

As any Illinois resident can tell you Michael Madigan’s rule has been disastrous. Over $110 billion in pension debt. Sky high property taxes, which are just about to get even worse in the city of Chicago thanks to its bankrupt public school system. Massive outward migration of jobs and taxpayers to neighboring states. Out of control business costs(workers compensation), wayward regulations, we even are terrible when it comes to lawsuits and jury awards and the like.

And all the while Madigan has been ruining this great state, we did give to the nation Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, he has been apparently enjoying himself at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field padding the Chicago Cubs front office ticket sales, which in turn has been money at the disposal of the Ricketts family since they bought the team in 2009.

madigan season ticketsIllinois Board of Election campaign reports dating back to 1999(which is as far as state online records go) show that Michael Madigan used a combination of his campaign funds and the campaign funds of the Democrats 13th Ward organization, which Madigan has controlled since the late ’60s, to buy more than $1.25 million worth of season tickets to the Cubs, including playoff tickets. State records also show that Madigan, and Senate President John Cullerton(D-Chicago) were the only two elected officials buying season tickets. All other lawmakers buying Cubs, or any other team tickets, made single game or weekend package purchases, and all of them listed the purpose as being for fundraising; something Michael Madigan never did(only in the earliest years did the records even say season tickets).

Madigan’s spokesman Steve Brown indicated to me several days prior to the Democrat Party convention in July that the Speaker did use some of those tickets along with his family.  As of this writing he has yet to respond more fully to questions surrounding those and other season ticket purchases to the Chicago Bulls and White Sox made with campaign funds.

That could possibly be a legal issue for the all mighty ruler of Illinois given that it is supposed to be illegal to use campaign funds for personal use. But, given every law passed in this state for the last four decades has his fingers prints, if not outright stamp of approval, on them, maybe Madigan and Mr. Brown know something the rest of us don’t.  I haven’t yet heard from the states Attorney General’s office, something about Lisa(Madigan) going to a baseball game with her dad.

O’ the tangle webs we weave.

Michael Madigan rules Illinois with an iron fist while enjoying the fine team the Ricketts family is bankrolling as they look to end Chicago’s World Series curse and all the while both work behind the scenes to destroy conservatives.

If I Was In Congress

House Floor

House Floor

If I was in Congress right now instead of Adam Kinzinger or Cheri Bustos, I wouldn’t be trying to pass legislation to regulate airplane seats, or sitting on the House floor pouting about not being able to deny Americans their due process and 2nd amendment rights.

No if I was in Congress right now I’d be filing articles of impeachment against Attorney General Loretta Lynch over her gross misconduct regarding the Clintons.

Speaking of articles of impeachment, such a bill would already be on record to remove Judge Posner from the Appellate court here in Illinois over his remarks recently telling lawyers, Judges, etc to ignore the Constitution, and American history; a clear violation of his oath of office.

With FBI director Comey laying out the evidence that Hillary Clinton violated multiple federal laws with her email set up and handling of classified information and then not recommending her indictment, I’d be getting ready to use my time at his upcoming House hearing to demand his immediate resignation.

After that I’d finish working with Adam Andrzejewski and Open The Books on legislation to curtail the ability to federal agencies to purchase weaponry, and prohibit some from having any at all. I mean what does a federal bureaucrat need with an amphibious assault carrier.

This weekend I’d be happy to be coming home, getting out of the DC swamp, and hold a couple of nice big old Joe Walsh style town hall meetings so me and them can chat about what governmental obstacle they need out of their way to prosper.

That’s what I’d be doing. Something you will never find Adam or Cheri doing.

No they’d rather be Snapchatting about gun control, or going on Fox and CNN constantly to get peppered with questions about Donald Trump.

Bustos Balks At Own Baseball Pay Bill

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

About a week and a half ago Illinois Democrat congresswoman Cheri Bustos joined with Kentucky Republican Brett Guthrie introduced the Save America’s Pastime Act which would exempt professional baseball, including minor leagues, from federal wage laws.

There has been a bit of an effort to get minor league baseball players paid based on federal/state minimum wage laws and the Bustos-Guthrie bill would have completely killed that effort.

Currently minor league baseball players make less than $2,000 a month, some in Triple A make just over $2,000/mo, while it is the major leaguers that are pulling down the multi-million dollar salaries to play a game.

After getting scores of ridicule from the sports media, Bustos, who is a former newspaper reporter and whose father was a lobbyist for MLB, dropped her support for the Pastime Act in the blink of an eye.

From the Washington Post:

The consensus was simple: The bill would effectively take more money out of the pockets of underpaid minor-leaguers, who don’t make nearly the fortunes of those who make it to the Big Show and who often can’t survive on playing baseball alone.

Bustos has now dropped the bill like a hot potato, tweeting Thursday that she’s withdrawing her support for it — which, again, she introduced with Guthrie less than a week ago.

“In the last 24 hours, several concerns about the bill have been brought to my attention that have led me to immediately withdraw my support of the legislation,” said Bustos, who happens to be the daughter of former Major League Baseball lobbyist and political aide Gene Callahan.

Guthrie’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

This is all really funny because Cheri is one of the biggest promulgators of the whole gender pay gap which is completely made up, and is a big backer of raising the federal minimum wage.

Bustos Helps Lead Dem Gun Control Tempertantrum On House Floor

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL) and other House Dems during their sit-in gun control protest

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL) and other House Dems during their sit-in gun control protest

Wednesday the Democrat members of the House of Representatives had a collective tempertantrum and staged a whiney college student sit-in protest on the House floor demanding that Speaker Paul Ryan schedule votes on gun control instead of the House going on recess for the next week.

The House Democrats effort was led and orchestrated by Rep. John Lewis.  He was joined by nearly every Democrat member of the House, and got support from Senate Democrats like Illinois’ “Little” Dick Durbin.  The Democrats have been demanding that the American people’s 2nd, 4th, and 5th amendment rights be trampled upon and infringed following the ISIS inspired terrorist attack at the Pulse night club in Orlando that left 49 dead and 53 wounded.

Instead of debating and introducing legislation to defeat the Islamo-Nazis who are responsible for the blood-shed in Orlando, and San Bernardino, and Paris, and all across Syria, Iraq, and Libya the Democrats want to do away with the 2nd amendment and your right to keep and bear arms, they want to jettison due process, which is a right guaranteed to you by the Bill of Rights. They want their liberal Statist Utopia, free of guns, free of dissent, and free of liberty.

Had just one person at that night club been carrying a lawfully concealed weapon the mayhem that occurred at Pulse would have resulted in far, far fewer innocent lives having been taken.

But no, we can’t have any of that now can we.

And thus the Democrats, including every Congressional Democrat from Illinois, staged their little tempertanrum.

17th CD congresswoman Cheri Bustos, who did Snapchat interview with her fellow gun grabbers during the protest, said in a press release:

“Too many mothers and fathers have lost their children to gun violence and they deserve more than thoughts and prayers, they deserve action,” “That’s why I’m participating in the sit-in protest to demand Congress hold a vote to close loophole that allows suspected terrorists to buy guns, and a vote expanding criminal background checks to keep deadly weapons out of the hands of violent offenders. Americans are sick of inaction from Republicans in Washington and they deserve a vote on common sense proposals to protect our families.”

Durbin And Bustos Use Orlando Terror Attack To Blame Guns Not Radical Islam

Sen. Dick Durbin(D-IL)

Sen. Dick Durbin(D-IL)

Sunday following the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11 Illinois Democrat Sen. “Little” Dick Durbin and Illinois Democrat congresswoman Cheri Bustos issued statements blaming guns for the massacre that has left 49 people dead(gunman makes 50) and 53 more wounded.

Here is Sen. Durbin’s statement:

This morning’s mass shooting was the worst in American history. Fifty people were massacred and dozens more injured when a heavily armed man opened fire on innocent people. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the victims and their loved ones, and I stand in solidarity with the LGBT community in Orlando and across America. These mass shootings follow an increasingly tragic script: the public is heartbroken and outraged, first responders and law enforcement do their grim duty, and Congress proposes a slew of policy proposals and argues over whether any of them could have prevented the last tragedy. But when the debates end and nothing has changed, Congress makes itself complicit in the next killing. We have the power to act, and we must. The bottom line is that we allow dangerous people to buy guns in America and that has got to change. In the coming days, Congress must take a stand against hate, terrorism, and this horrific gun violence.

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

Congresswoman Bustos, who owes her seat in Congress to being close personal friends with Durbin(and Michael Madigan drawing district maps), said in her statement:

My heart breaks for all of the victims in Orlando and their families, but that isn’t enough. We have got to do more to protect our families from senseless tragedies, whether it’s mass shootings like this or the everyday gun violence that plagues too many of our streets

She went on to say on Twitter that “We have to do more”.

More about what?

This was an act of Islamic terrorism, committed by a devout Muslim whose family is from Afghanistan. While the subhuman cockroach mass murderer was an American citizen he never assimilated into our culture. Multiculturalism, diversity training, tolerance, never worked on this Jihadi who was sympathetic towards and inspired by ISIS, to which he pledged allegiance to DURING his rampage.

Assault weapons bans, more background checks, more gun free zones, won’t stop Islamic terrorist from committing acts of war or from hitting soft targets like crowded night clubs.  Remember these Islamo-Nazis have used airplanes and box cutters to kill thousands, they use chlorine gas in Syria and Iraq, the Palestinian terrorists will use the bumpers of their cars and knives to kill, the terrorists decapitated a soldier in London with a machete.

Restricting peoples 2nd amendment right isn’t the answer to Islamic Jihad and fundamentalism, killing the Islamo-Nazis before they can commit their acts of savagery is.

Rep. Bustos Attacks GOP Over Trump In House Floor Speech, While Completely Forgetting Her Party’s Racist Past

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

Rep. Cheri Bustos(D-IL)

Thursday Illinois Democrat congresswoman Cheri Bustos took to the House floor to attack Donald Trump, the Republican Party, and congressional Republicans over the racists comments Trump made about a federal Judge, however in doing so she kind of forgot about her own party’s racists past and made a mockery of one of the important and historic accomplishments the GOP is responsible for regarding race.

Bustos said that, “We know that the diversity of our nation makes us greater. So whenever racism rears its ugly head, all of us, Democrats and Republicans, have an obligation to reject it Mr. Speaker. ,I have been very disturbed to see so many of my Republican colleagues trying to tiptoe around this offensive behavior of the new leader of their party, Donald Trump, I urge all of you colleagues to do the right thing and reject racist policies without any ifs, ands, or buts.”

Bustos also said, “ I would remind my colleagues that this is the year 2016, it’s not 1916, it’s not 1816. We as a nation have come so far, but there was a time when I, as a woman, would not have been allowed to vote, let alone speak on the floor of this chamber. There was a time when our friends in the congressional black caucus or in the hispanic caucus would not have been welcomed here.”

The congresswoman forgot to say that the reason why African-Americans in particular faced such discrimination for much of the nations history was the outright racism of her very Democrat Party and her lack of knowledge of the history of Congress and of these United States is down right sad.

It was her party that wrote and passed the Jim Crowe laws. It was her party that institutionalized segregation. It was her party that created and supported the Klan.

Admonishing Trump is one thing, attacking the whole of the Republican Party because of his verbal diarrhea is completely out of line.

It was the Abraham Lincoln and the Republican Party that ended slavery. It was the Republican Party and a Republican Congress, and a Republican President Ulysses Grant who tried to stamp out the Klan in its early years. And it was the Republican Party that put the first African-American into a seat in Congress, a person who also just happens to be the only African-American Speaker of the House in our nations history, Joseph Rainey. And it was congressman Rainey, President Grant, and the Republican Party that past important reconstruction era civil rights legislation.

Also what party again had all of the minority candidates in its presidential field this cycle? Wasn’t it the Republican Party with Cruz, Rubio, Carson and Jindal.

Rockford Airport Looking At Adding Weekly Flights To Communist Cuba

Rockford_Airport1WIFR is reporting that officials at the Chicago-Rockford International Airport are looking into the prospects of working with an unnamed airline that would  bring twice weekly flights from Rockford to Havana, on the Communist dictatorship controlled Caribbean island of Cuba and are gauging interest in the flights.

I know there are a lot of old car enthusiasts in Northern Illinois that would love to see ’57 Chevy’s and Buick’s in mint condition up close and personal, and may even want to buy/own one, but they’d fit into a single plane one time.(Remember a mega pack of toilet paper from Wal-mart is worth half a car down there.)

Rockford has got some already high end health care available to it, and that is only going to improve when the new hospital is built off of I-90, so medical tourism to Cuba of the Michael Moore variety isn’t going to be happening.

Democrat congresswoman Cheri Bustos loves to talk up more trade with the Castro brothers maybe these flights are for her and the executives at Deere and Cat and members of local Farm bureaus and the like so they can have meetings with mid-level Cuban government bureaucrats.

Illinois is a corrupt one party state with more than its fair share of Communists, so I guess our elected officials could be going to Havana for training and seminars on re-education camps and taxing the “rich” out of existence, but they’d be flying out of O’Hare or Midway not Rockford to do that.

Did Rep. Adam Kinzinger Pull A Kirk And Endorse A Democrat Over A Conservative

Sen. Mark Kirk and Rep. Adam Kinzinger

Sen. Mark Kirk and Rep. Adam Kinzinger

In 2014 Illinois “Republican” Sen. Mark Kirk infamously said that his friendship with Democrat Sen. “Little” Dick Durbin was more important than helping get state Sen. Jim Oberweis elected to that US Senate seat. The conservative rank and file of the Illinois GOP(and the Tea Party) haven’t forgotten or forgiven Kirk for that inexplicable transgression.

Now it seems like Sen. Kirk’s younger self Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger is pulling the same sort of stunt.

On Tuesday Kinzinger hosted a town hall meeting in downtown Rockford to address the city’s growing crime problem(5th most dangerous city according to FBI stats for 2015). The event was attended by Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey, Rockford Police Chief Daniel O’Shea, agents from the FBI and DEA, a representative from the Winnebago county Sheriff’s department, and Illinois Democrat congresswoman Cheri Bustos, whose 17th congressional district covers Rockford’s West side and thus includes many of the worst crime neighborhoods.

It was during Kinzinger’s introduction to Bustos that he seems to have heavily implied he’d like to she her return to DC with him after the November election.

Kinzinger said:

I appreciate my friend Cheri Bustos being here as well. So we’re Republicans and Democrats right. If we can get along, people can get along. You know what I’ve realized in Cheri is she is a fantastic person, very focused on dight the right thing for her country. What I’ve always believed in political dialogue is Republicans and Democrats both want the same thing, we want a successful America, we just happen to see how to get there somewhat differently. But we definitely see eye to eye when it comes to supporting efforts to reduce crime in Rockford and she’s been a great partner in Rockford….

Kinzinger’s sweet talk of Bustos isn’t sitting well with her Republican challenger in the November election, Knox county Tea Party leader and Casey’s General Store truck driver Patrick Harlan.

Harlan said in an email after seeing the video, “I have been in shock”. Harlan continued, ” I am trying to wrap my mind over what Adam Kinzinger stated in Rockford when he was joined with progressive, liberal Cheri Bustos. I am hoping that he is unaware of my candidacy in the 17th district.”

Harlan went on about how he couldn’t believe Kinzinger would have the temerity to call congresswoman Bustos his friend saying, “I would not consider a rubber stamp of the Obama administration a friend under any definition of the word. Adam, you should not use the term friend so lightly when you have a true conservative counterpart that has the ability to take the 17th district seat in November.”

Congressman Kinzinger might also want to tone it way down on the “fantastic person” and “right for country” talk when it comes to Bustos as well. Remember this is a woman who created a gigantic bugaboo about their being lead water pipes in Galesburg when she first learned about it a couple of weeks ago, nevermind that the EPA and city of Galesburg have known about and been working on the problem since 1992.

And what was it last week Bustos was introducing her WATER Act complete with a $60 billion tax hike on businesses in this country. Before that she’s been all giddy about increasing trade with Communist Cuba and the Castro brothers. The congresswoman also loves to fill her Twitter feed with gender pay gap falsehoods.

That isn’t looking out for the best interest of the county, and certainly doesn’t qualify as “fantastic”.

Ever since Kinzinger was first elected to Congress in 2010 he has been working extra hard to distance himself from Conservatives and the Tea Party, who helped get him elected in the first place(and of whom he claimed to be one of). For nearly the past year he has been trying to erase his past support of traditional marriage and now wants everyone to support what Justice Kennedy did to the institution of marriage. Last week he was one on 43 Republicans voting for an amendment that was affirming of the pro-LGBT agenda, and when called out on that vote attacked the Heritage Foundation.  Last fall he was one of a handful of Republicans in the House who joined with Democrats to revive the Ex-Im Bank.

So it shouldn’t be so surprising that he’d heap a ton of praise on someone who is heavily supported by the pro-abortion lobby, unions, and is only a member of Congress because of her close personal and family ties to Dick Durbin.

Now to be perfectly fair I have given congressman Kinzinger and his staff since Tuesday night to clarify his remarks and/or to affirmatively state he’d be back Patrick Harlan during his campaign. His staff at the town hall event on Tuesday night steadfastly refused to answer. His spokeswoman hasn’t responded to multiple emails all week, including for reaction to Harlan’s emailed reaction to the video. As of publication Kinzinger and his staff still have no comment.

Kinzinger has no opponent at this time and will thus easily win a 4th term.

Rockford Crime Town Hall With Rep’s Kinzinger, Bustos, Local Law Enforcement

FBI special agent Steve Jensen, Rockford PD Chief Daniel O'Shea, Mayor Larry Morrissey, and other law enforcement leaders

FBI special agent Steve Jensen, Rockford PD Chief Daniel O’Shea, and other law enforcement leaders

Tuesday night at Rockford’s Memorial Hall congressman Adam Kinzinger, congresswoman Cheri Bustos, Rockford Mayor Larry Morrissey, and local law enforcement talked about the continuing crime problem in the city and the regions heroin problem.

FBI Special Agent Steve Jensen said that, “I’ll be the first to admit it we’re not doing enough yet.” Jensen also said, “Until the citizens of Rockford start to feel safer, start to feel that crime is going down the statistics are meaningless.”

The city had to deal with several shootings over the Memorial day weekend that wounded at least 5, a murder-suicide, a home invasion, and Tuesday a pair of bank robberies.

Congressman Kinzinger said that he put on the town hall meeting after meeting with Jensen to get the community more involved in tackling the problems facing the city and Winnebago county.

Congresswoman Cheri Bustos talked about the families of crime victims.

Rockford police Chief Daniel O’Shea said that the crux of the crime problem is a lack of parenting.

The local political and law enforcement leaders stressed the cooperation that all of the various agencies are utilizing to target the city’s violent armed robbery crews, and drug dealers.

One not so minor thing that bothered me with the otherwise informative and badly needed event was the fact that as soon as Mayor Morrissey started the event he and every one else went right into talking, there was no reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. We had two Mayors(Belvidere), two members of the House of Representatives, about half the Rockford city council, couple of county board members, the Winnebago county board chairman, and about 50 members of the public, plus all of Rockford media in attendance and no Pledge, disappointing.
