With the Tuesday April 5th general election just days away I want everyone espically here in Illinois to go to the polls and vote in the local elections.  In Rockford the people who will make up the school board are on the ballot, in sub-distiritc C I have to encourage everyone to vote for Mickey Simmons, In sub-distirict B I'd vote for Tim Robbins and in sub-district G Bill Neblock.  In my little village of Ashton we will be selecting village board members and I honestly couldn't tell you whose running let alone who I would vote for, me thinks I have a homework assignment for this weekend/monday.  Over the last several days I have found myself traveling up and down the major roads in Dixon, hometown on Ronald Reagan, and if yard signs are any indication of how the vote will turn out then Bob Gibler will be the new mayor of Dixon.  By my count there are roughly 25 Vote Gibler signs to every one re-elect Jim Burke sign.  I really hope the vote is as equally lopsided in favor of Mr. Gibler, I had a run in with Mayor Burke a few months back and make no mistake about it, Jim Burke is a big government, high tax, massive spending appologist who I can not wait to see defeated.
