Abolish abortion in our time


"The most dangerous place to be for an African-American is in the womb."  That is the text of a billboard ad that was placed in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City.  This billboard of course drew the immediate scorn of the political left including Rev. Al Sharpton and others.  The ad from the group Life Always was called racist, sexist and everything in between.  Bill de Blasio captured just about all of the leftist criticism of the billboard in this quote(from foxnews.com ) "This billboard simply doesn't belong in our city.  The ad violates the values of New Yorkers and is grossly offensive to women and communities of color.  Women of all backgrounds have a right to reproductive healthcare in New York City, and we must not let the current campaign of attacks undermine New Yorkers' longstanding support for a woman's right to choose.  A mix of intolerance and bad judgement put this ad up-common decency demands it be taken down."(that billboard has been taken down by the way story here .)


What none of those up in arms about the billboard seem to grasp or understand is that it is spot on accurate, especially in New York City.  According to statistics from the New York City Department of Health nearly 60% of pregnancies in the African-American community in New York City are terminated, i.e aborted.  Overall in the city of New York 40% of all children conceived are aborted.  That is absolutely staggering and wholly unacceptable for a society that was founded and built around the words of the Declaration of Independence.  "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."


I applaud the people involved with Life Always for putting up the billboard in Manhattan because this nation needs to have a seriously long hard look at the fact that since 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling 52 Million lives have been lost to the practice of abortion.


In part the 5th amendment to the Constitution says that "No person shall be...deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."  


There simply is no refuting the undeniable fact that abortion is a death sentence for the child whose life is snuffed out of existence while inside of the mothers womb.  A sentence of death given without a trial, absent any judge or jury, and given without any offense having been committed by the party declared guilty for simply being inside a woman who doesn't want them, a death sentence upon which there is no chance for appeal or stay of execution.  It is sickening that nearly 1 Million children annually will be denied all their rights given that children, including and especially so for the "unborn," are the very definition of innocence.


Just as this nation righted its original sin of slavery with the help of the abolitionist such as John Quincy Adams, so to must this nation redress this self-inflicted holocaust against our own children by abolishing the act of abortion forth right.


The rights of Life, Liberty, the protections of the Law must be extended to our "unborn" children and never again should any precious, innocent human being be "deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law."  We must amend our Constitution in such a way so as to guarantee that a person is recognized and defined as  person no matter their stage of development.  Each of us, pro-lifers and pro-abort, began the same way, a fertilized egg rapidly undergoing cellular division that quickly takes shape as a new and unique human, with eyes, and ears, hair, skin and bones, heart, lungs and brain.  From the moment of conception to the end of natural life we must enshrine into our Law of the Land that a person is a person and the act, the procedure known as abortion has no place here, it is unwelcome and its abolition cannot come soon enough given the number of lives it has and continues to take on a daily basis.  We can and we should Abolish abortion in our time.
