comparing Barack Obama to other Presidents; you only need to mention one Jimmy Carter

In the afterglow of President Obama's 2011 State of the Union address the main stream media said that speech was akin to something that would have been said by Ronald Reagan.

In the main stream media commentary following his recent speech to the Chamber of Commerce the comparison was made between Obama and John F. Kennedy.

During the '08 Presidential election Chris Matthews of MSNBC said then Senator Obama's speech about race and Rev. Wright was "Lincolnesque".

There of course have been other media comparisons likening President Obama to FDR or George Washington and just about every other American President except for William Henry Harrison who died a little over a month after being inaugurated.

However no one other than conservatives, have likened President Obama to the one American President that he actually replicates and reminds the public of, Jimmy Carter.

Because of, in whole or in part, President Carter, Iran went the way of radical islam.  Unemployment was 7.5% and was on the way towards 10% as he left office.  Inflation was 12.5% and interest rates were 21%.  The top marginal tax rate was 70%.  Our nations energy policy consisted of shortages, long lines and sweaters.  The thought was preeminent that the US of A's best days where in the rear view mirror.

Under President Obama's watch Egypt has a 50/50 chance of falling into the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood.  Unemployment has stayed unbearably high for enough consecutive months to put our current situation on par with the unemployment numbers of the Great Depression.  Inflation is relatively nonexistent except for the prices for food and fuel.  While the current top marginal tax rate is 35%, President Obama has pledged to his progressive/liberal base that one of his reelection planks will be to raise taxes.  Today our nations energy policy consist of moratoriums on drilling, the retroactive denial of coal mining permits, and tax credits for people to buy electric cars when our nation has not built a new nuclear power plant in 30 years, and our President has said this about coal fired power plants which generate 50% of our nations electrical energy. "...if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can-it's just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

President Carters misery index, stagflation and malaise gave way to two of this nations biggest Presidential election landslides in favor of Ronald Reagan.  Ronald Reagan gave this nation an entire generations worth of economic growth and prosperity created 19 million jobs, slashed interest and inflation rates, dropped taxes across the board on investors and individuals cutting the top marginal rate from 70 to 28%.

President Obama's chronically high "new normal" unemployment rates, Trillions of dollars in spending and efforts to saddle the country with $5 a gallon gasoline should hopefully give this nation a solid conservative Republican nominee to be President of the United States in 2012.  This conservative nominee will be one that limits the size and power of the Federal government, cuts out Trillions of dollars in spending in an effort to properly balance the budget, works on keeping taxes low for the American people, is serious about reforming our nations financial anchor known as our entitlement programs of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid(and there $112 Trillion in unfunded liabilities.).  This conservative nominee should also be committed to making this nation energy independent and is not hostile towards the privet sector of our economy and the job creators in this nation.

There may not be another Renoldus Magnus in our nations future, but there is someone out there who can and will do the same kind of things he did to make the shining city on a hill even better than she is today.
