A tale about unemployment "benefits"
With the national unemployment rate rising to 9.8% and claims by progressive liberal socialist Marxist Democrats that unemployment benefits are a boon to the economy in an effort to garner the extension, yet again, of those unemployment benefits, I thought now would be a good time to share with everyone the tale of "Roger".
"Roger" and I both started working at the same company, about a week apart. One day as we were working "Roger", admitted his ambition and goal for this job, stay on about 60 days so that he could leave and go back to receiving his unemployment benefits, see prior to this job "Roger" had been collecting unemployment for quite some time. Well, as the best laid plans of mice and men often goes awry, "Rogers" plan was dashed about a day later when he got himself let go from the company due to his own poor work behavior.("Roger" would get another job days later)
What "Roger" exemplifies is the mindset that comes from receiving unemployment benefits, in that it disincentives a person to work and underscores what all the various Federal welfare programs actually are, a means by which to redistribute wealth and to create a potential block of voters beholden to only electing those who will keep the governmental nipple open to them.
I've been out of work, on several occasions, it sucks, but not once have I ever contemplated going on the government dole. "Roger" on the other hand couldn't wait to stop working and go back on the dole.
So I'd like to say, your welcome, to all the "Rogers" in the country who are getting roughly $300 a week in unemployment benefits, because I am having 1/3 of what I earn taken from me each week and so is every other working man or women in the nation with those making more having more taken from them via taxes.
I completely understand a person needing some help in hard times but those are the instances where friends, family and loved ones come into play in helping out. Beyond that the churches(and other houses of worship) and the tens of thousands of charitable organizations exist to serve that purpose of helping someone in a time of need. I'm still hard pressed to find how it is a legitimate function of the government, particularly the Federal government to act in place of those other avenues to assistance.
So as the progressive liberal socialist Marxist Democrats continue to push for never ending "benefits" making one absurd claim after another. I'll continue to keep the "Rogers" of the country in mind as I insist that unemployment benefits should be capped(and the fewer weeks a person can claim them the better)

I've wished to post something like this on my blog and this gave me nice idea. Thanks!
